The verdict is in!! We had 13 submissions. The club members voted and an external group of judges (thanks to Russel Styles, Kim McGee, and Kyle James) also voted.
The winner of the club members' vote is "Authenticity" by Stephanie Rutherford"!
The external judges picked "Grandpa's Hands" by Laura Willems as the winning photo!
Congratulations to these two well-deserved winners!!
Our annual end-of-year photo contest is based on "Something you're proud of". The photo taken had to be taken during the 2020-2021 season. We have such amazing entries! The club members will vote and we will also have external judges choose as well! The winner from each group will win a free membership for the upcoming 2021-22 year. These are the fantastic entries:
It has certainly been a different type of year for our photo club and for many others. Due to the pandemic, we've had to do the whole year online! While it was an adjustment, and we have missed seeing each other in real life, there has been some real positives to take away from this! As a result of having to "zoom", this has opened doors to new speakers! We also gone from one meeting a month to two meetings a month, allowing us to have further interactions with each other and to have a photo share for one meeting and a guest speaker for another. Throughout all of this, one thing hasn't changed and it's people's passion for photography! We have thoroughly enjoyed viewing each other's work and seeing everyone's creativity and perspectives!
The last photo share of the month was based on "New Life" and "Intimate Landscape".
We are excitedly awaiting to hear our upcoming guest speaker, Irena Hauck on Monday, May 31st. She will be taking us through her presentation: “Backward Glances” which is a 2 part series.
Irena made Canada her new home while continuing to freelance for numerous Canadian based Polish newspapers. On return trips to Poland, Irena continues to document the massive changes that have occurred over the decades and closer to her Stratford home will be seen chasing storms as opportunity arises.
