Our upcoming speaker is a talented, self-taught photographer, Mark Tingle. He has been photographing since he was young, back when Dark rooms were used to process film. Switching over to digital in 2010, new methods and tutorials opened a world of photography to him. As a result, and with practice, he's been able to master his photography skills in macro, long exposure, and water droplets.

The provincial COVID lockdown may have curtailed our outings but not our creativity! In light of the stay-at-home order, we decided to have two themes for our Photo share. Theme 1 is about deliberate movement with your camera while Theme 2 is about refraction. People's interpretation and creativity has really made this an interesting photo share to view!
Kim Magee will be joining us on January 25th to share with us her vast experience of working in the photography field since 1993. She specializes in working with people: weddings, engagements, and family. Kim has her own business called "Beautiful You", where she offers portraits and studio work.
Her biggest strength for portraiture comes with the ability to make clients relaxed, comfortable and feel good in front of the camera. She will share her tips on how she accomplishes this and how she got into this type of photography.
The best advice she could give to any photographer, amateur or professional, is to never stop learning.
We kicked off our 2021 year with a new format for our club meetings. Our members have decided to break up our 3 hour meeting online into 2 smaller sessions. The first meeting of the month will be admin/housekeeping things, along with our photo share while the second meeting of the month is reserved for guest speakers.
Since we are in midst of a COVID lockdown, our photo outings had to be cancelled. We did manage to get one photo outing in just before the lockdown. In light of this, the photo share for this month is a collection of photos: The one outing and any photos you wanted to share. The photo theme of the month was "Family". We have decided to not include these on the blog due to privacy reasons.
December's meeting allowed us to share photos from our Theme of the month which was "Something Red" as well our photos from our two outings (Tinkl's Gallery and Royal Canadian Falconry). We also had an opportunity to hear about Michelle Guillerman's amazing photography journey and experience with wildlife.
